Commissioned by the Shire of Broome, the Lorikeet Drive Extension project involved the construction of a new road at the intersection of Old Broome Road & Lorikeet Drive. Given its location on a major route into Broome, careful planning and traffic management were required to minimise disruption while ensuring road safety.
Scope of Works
As the Head Contractor, Roadline was responsible for:
- Constructing a new road and intersection with Old Broome Road
- Installing stormwater drainage culverts and headwalls (precast and cast in situ)
- Constructing road crossings and shaping overland flow swale drains at road shoulders
- Implementing traffic management to maintain road safety and flow
Outcome
- Zero safety incidents throughout the project.
- Minimal disruption to public traffic and local businesses.
- Practical completion achieved on time and in line with the client’s expectations.
