The Town Beach Precinct redevelopment was a transformative project aimed at enhancing one of Broome’s most popular waterfront destinations. Commissioned by the Shire of Broome, this project focused on improving connectivity, usability, and public amenities while preserving the area’s natural beauty and cultural significance. The redevelopment included the National Parks & Leisure Awards-winning playspace, creating a vibrant recreational hub for both locals and tourists.
Scope of Works
As the Head Contractor, we were responsible for delivering a range of infrastructure and landscaping works, including:
- Earthworks and landscaping to reshape and enhance the precinct
- Construction of footpaths, a scooter track, and a footbridge to improve accessibility
- Installation of new electrical systems and conduits for lighting and public amenities
- Integration of a reticulation system to connect with the existing amphitheatre infrastructure while minimising disruption
- Design, fabrication, and installation of custom playground elements
Outcome
The project was delivered within the 6-month timeframe with:
- Zero safety incidents
- Minimal disruption to the public and high-profile community events
- A nationally recognised playspace, enhancing Broome’s recreational and tourism appeal
